Rockville,
Maryland, March 12, 2004 — Teletronics International,
Inc.
a leader in broadband wireless technology, announced
today that the FCC, under Part 15C, certified Teletronics’
11Mbps Wireless LAN Card with up to 233 milliWatts (mW)
of transmit power and detachable antenna (FCC Identifier
-- MFM-11-136).
Teletronics’ high-power LAN Card (Model 11-136)
provides WEP encryption (64 bit or 128 bit) and supports
an external antenna with MMCXRP connector. From the
receiving end, the Card features a superior receive
sensitivity of -85dBm at 11Mbps. Designed with outdoor
applications in mind, the Card has a wide operating
temperature range of -20° to +70° C. For Teletronics’
total solution applications, the Card is used as the
transceiver unit in Teletronics’ CPE Router or
EZ-Bridge, allowing the system to deliver versatile
low-cost wireless outdoor broadband solutions for Wireless
ISPs as a bridge, a router, or a back-to-back repeater,
all conveniently configurable by the user.
For other applications by innovative-minded users, the
Card can be integrated into any client device operating
under Windows® 2000 or XP operating systems. The
Card is IEEE 802.11b-compliant and can be operated in
infrastructure mode with the latest Wi-Fi® certified
wireless LAN access points under 802.11g. Software is
provided to support users to perform link configurations
and diagnostics.
Standard 802.11b LAN Cards for PC plug-in applications
have about one-fourth the power of Teletronics’
new 11-136 Cards. Selling at a price comparable to the
cost of standard LAN Cards, Teletronics’ “high
power” Cards offer significantly better in-door
penetration and much longer line-of-sight range.
