Amplifiers and UDCs (Up-Down Converters) are the "hearts"
of wireless broadband systems since they expand the necessary
range for the wireless broadband systems. Teletronics' expertise
lies in the design, development, and network implementation
of these products and related technology, which constitutes
its critical technology dominance. This expertise directly translates
into creation of a new class of broadband wireless network systems
at frequencies designated by the customer.
For all practical purposes, almost all new classes of broadband
wireless systems exploit the fundamental infrastructure of the
2.4 GHz system. The UDCs invariably use the 2.4 Ghz ISM band
RF systems as the basic platform. This is because the 2.4 GHz
systems are consumer grade products, which are inexpensive and
are tested in the consumer market. Even at 900 MHz, where there
are ISM band products in existence, the UDCs for 900 MHz are
still in demand by exploiting 2.4 GHz frequency conversions.
At
present, Teletronics' new broadband systems for customers can
be categorized in the following table:

Teletronics' Special Frequency Systems are most popular in the
2.4/5.8 GHz band as the existing 2.4 GHz systems are jammed
with interference. Teletronics' Special Frequency Systems are
being implemented internationally, with leading customers located
in Israel, Canda, UAE, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and
many Central and South American Countries.
From the customer's operational perspective, Teletronics Special
Frequency Broadband wireless Systems are no different from existing
2.4 GHz WLAN systems, i.e., they are low power TDD access system
based on direct sequence speed spectrum technology with multiple
overlapping channels of 20 MHz in the 83 MHz bandwidth.
Teletronics' versatile CPE and EZBridge are all applicable.
The only difference is that the link has two UDCs inserted in
the CPE and/or EZBridge, one on each side. A typical application
or Teletronics' 3.5 GHz point-to-multipoint systems (using CPE3500)
for ALETEL, Ecuador, is shown in the
following picture:
